When it feel like living’s harder than dyin’
For me giving up’s way harder than tryin’
Lauryn Hill say her heart was in Zion
I wish her heart still was in rhymin’
‘Cause who the kids gonna listen to?
I guess me, if it isn’t you.
When it feel like living’s harder than dyin’
For me giving up’s way harder than tryin’
Lauryn Hill say her heart was in Zion
I wish her heart still was in rhymin’
‘Cause who the kids gonna listen to?
I guess me, if it isn’t you.

The whole song is a real inspiration, but these lyrics in particular point out that kids of today need somebody to look up to - an idol or a musical legend. In this day and age kids and teenagers are all too easily influenced by hip hop lyrics that often glorify crime, violence, drugs and sex.
